NASA Scientist Discovers Evidence of Alien Life:
NASA scientist Dr. Richard B. Hoover has found microfossils of bacteria within a extremely rare class of meteorite called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites. Using a scanning-electron microscope and a field emission electron-scanning microscope Dr. Hoover was able to discover and identify the fossils, stating, "The exciting thing is that they are in many cases recognizable and can be associated very closely with the generic species here on earth,” Some of the fossils, however, are quite odd. “There are some that are just very strange and don’t look like anything that I’ve been able to identify, and I’ve shown them to many other experts that have also come up stump.”

Ode to College
First Post:
In the final semester of college one must stop and reflect, how the hell did i live through all that? my guarding angel must be a work-a-holic after these four years. between wasted wrestling on a snowday, to "borrowing" mini motorcycles in stillwater, OK... its been a ride.

Toasts
Every time I raise a beer with friends I feel the need to say something meaningful, but the only thing that comes to my lips is the rim of the glass. To fill the moment of silence between pour and palate, I have dug up some old toasts that I have been collecting throughout the last few years. Enjoy.
-To women, song and beer, may they never be flat.
-Champagne costs too much,
whiskey's too rough,
vodka puts big mouths in gear.
This little refrain
should help to explain
why it's better to order a beer!
-Times are hard, and wagers are small, so drink more beer and fuck them all.
-For every wound, a balm.
For every sorrow, cheer.
For every storm, a calm.
For every thirst, a beer.
-Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold beer-and another one!
-Gentlemen, start your livers!
-When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
So let's all get drunk and go to heaven!

Although we may not be able to fly with helium in our jeans, we can fly with enough helium balloons. Check out this site to learn how to fly with cluster balloons.

l'art pour l'art
I have long thought about the presence of art in everyday life. The presence of art in the world is unmistakeable, from branding, architecture, physical paintings and sculptures, the written word, music; the list literally is infinite. But how often do we actually take the time to appreciate the artistic value of the world around us. Does the fact that KU has more than 7 buildings on the national monument register effect my life in any minute manner. How often do I walk to class listening to music and actually ponder the reality that a whole host of individuals had to collectively use their talents to present a mere 3 minutes of noise to my iPod. I'm not trying to dwell on this in the manner a hipster might, I'm simply suggesting that the next time you take a stroll through the world, pay head to the art that fills it. Remember, "to live intensely amongst the world is an artistic necessity, and an art form in and of itself" - Claude Monet. We are all artists, and certainly the products of art in the world. Perhaps today is the day to harness your creativity and use the inspiration that is the collection of art in the world to produce your own work. Draw, write, jam, think... just do!

There's something out there...
I consider myself a reasonably logical person; my beliefs firmly based in science. The abstract and unfounded notions of the paranormal and super-spiritual have never resonated with me. However, I am of the opinion, and have been for some time, that there is/are factor(s) in this world that human beings have not yet been able to perceive through our abilities to see, hear, smell, touch and taste. It seems to me that there must be some connection beyond time and space that links people, events, thoughts, etc. The way I picture this "link" is similar to the network of neurons and synapses in the human nervous system. I imagine billions of lines of events that, when triggered, increase the likelihood of others inter crossed with each other firing. It is the not so rare occurrence of simultaneous thoughts and actions that spurred this theory. Perhaps I am unique in experiencing and/or noticing these otherwise insignificant coincidences so allow me to explain. Have you ever been talking to someone who has forgotten what they were going to say? When this happens to me I nearly always unconsciously start going through a possible list of what they may be thinking. Now, the events of which I speak occur in these brief moments. The list in my head has been narrowed to a single option, and as I become consciously aware of that option, the person says, "loop of henle." What the shit!!! That's what I was thinking! How could this be? I'm convinced its not due to random chance. I think... there's something out there...

The Great Guinness Toast
Every year, thousands of brilliant people gather together at their favorite Irish pubs and indulge in the finest glass of suds this earth has to offer. What is special about February 18th, 2011 is that all of these people will be doing it at the same time. Thats right, at 10:00 pm central time, every man, woman, and child who has ever appreciated the first quaff of a perfectly poured, euphoria inducing, full bodied wonder drink known as Guinness will raise their glasses of the good stuff and toast to excellence. I encourage everyone to venture out into the night and share in the splendor.
Brilliant!

Thursday Night Specials
Theres no better way to kick off the weekend than with a tortilla filled with butternut squash puree and toasted pumpkin seeds, topped with a goat cheese creama. Garnish that taco with a freshly squeezed lime margarita, beautiful weather, and the company of some of your best buds and you have an extremely fulfilling beginning of what is sure to be a great weekend. The Bourgeois Pig was rocking $3 Red Stripes and Harps. The Eldridge had 1/2 price martinis. I went with the classic dirty gin martini, extra olives and juice (it may or may not have tasted like a sweaty ball sack). The Sandbar was hosting a one in one out party with $2.50 tropical drinks. The Wheel was as expected, packed and expensive, but that why you go I suppose. In summation, a nice way to start a long weekend and a superb way to begin the spring season. I wish i had a better floater.

$1.1 million Pagani Huayra Coming to the U.S.:
The Italian supercar boasts a 6-liter twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine that will put out 700-horsepower, and go 0-60 in ~3.5 seconds. Largely hand-built, the frame around the driver is made of carbon-titanium and the fuel tank is made of "different composite and ballistic materials,"putting the total weight of the car at only ~3000 pounds. Only 20 will be sold worldwide each year, making the Huayra rarer than a Bugatti Veyron.

House parties: there are two kinds of house parties in my eyes. House parties that are with your boys and life is good, and those that are at your boy's girl's house. The latter of the two is often times an epic failure, however you always want to support your bro. In cases such as these we find ourselves in such intricate dilemmas that it takes away from the free flowing opportunities you may have in any given evening. The solution? Blackout and refer to our previous post...
